Healing
Reiki is a Japanese form of natural healing. If we break the word down, "Rei" can be described as meaning the Universal transcendental spirit and "Ki" can be described as the vital life force energy. Put them together and you have Reiki - Universal Life Energy.
There is one major benefit with Reiki that, as yet, no other form of natural healing offers. This is the use of Reiki for healing the self.
Other benefits that Reiki offers is that it can be taught in a very short time, one day for Reiki One and one day for Reiki Two.
Reiki One is for self - treatments and for treating family members and close friends.
Reiki Two involves the treating of others by contact and distant healing. Distant healing is where the Reiki healer sends the Reiki healing energy by thought to people who require healing but are unable to travel to your practise. Distant healing is a very good way of giving Reiki healing to anyone, anywhere in the world.

It is my personal belief that , as much as Reiki has an intelligence and wisdom of it's own, it is the depth of the Love and Compassion of the Reiki healer that helps it work more efficiently and helps it to have a more profound effect on the client.
